Just another day

Not much eventful happenings around me for the past few days.  Probably one of the reasons that my blog is not updated recently and also the fact that I am so obssessed with GOLDMINER, some stupid and time-consuming game I indulged into lately..HAHA.  I suppose my lust towards fake gold are over by now and back to blogging.

Perhaps I should elaborate more on my previous post course I was not really in the mood to type that other night.  Back to the outing at TImes Square, we settled ourselves for early dinner at Secret Recipe.  Each of us ordered a set meal, except Jun Huy who just requested a piece of cake.  After a long hour conversation, we stopped by at Low Yat just to browse my laptop hard disk and cooler.  Jun Huy brought me to a shop he used to work at and recommended a few.  Unfortunately, I did not purchase because the casing I wanted was out of stock and honestly I was quite hesitant to buy;  I haven't ask parent's permission yet but I am desperate!!! My lappy is in search of more space and all my downloaded movies and dramas keep pilling up.  On the bright side, I bought a cooler which was very much similar to the Ed's haha, 3 fans and only cost 27 bucks although the displayed price is RM50.

On the way back to Times Square to Chin Hoong's car, I got a shocking message from a very familiar friend, which almost cause me rolling on the floor laughing.  the content was simply so called poetic.

It goes....

Suatu malam ku ternampak si fatt chai dan 4 sekawannya merayau-rayau berhampiran Low Yat Plaza.  Pastu lenyaplah pandangan daripada si fatt chai krn ku tak sama haluan.

The next one was...

Maka berangkat pulanglah cendol chai dan terbuktilah tiada jodoh antaranya dan si fatt chai.  Kalau ada sumur di ladang blh kita berjumpa lg.

If the sender whom I do not wish to reveal reads this...PLEASE!!!! It's LAME!!!

A Not So Boring Day After All

Weather      : The same old humid and scorching hot surrounding
Listening to : Pet Shop Boys - Go West; Phantom Planets - California

It was a day like any of my ordinary days, sitting at home and watch the four walls entangling me with nothing but boredom.  Pirates of the Caribbean is OUT!!! The waiting days are over and  my favourite yet hillarious Johnny Depp with his crew are finally premiered in cinemas.  So I thought of calling out my usual big bunch of university friends to join the pirate adventure.  It turned out bad as I realised that the chances of obtaining a good seat is pretty low since online bookings are practically full and the queue would be unbearable for last minute ticket purchasers.  A reluctant and hard decision had I made eventually, which is to postpone the event...Sorry guys, well technically speaking girls, for the last notification. Luckily this kind person who was delegated to buy those tickets was JUST on the way out when I call her, HAHA, on the bright side it was good timing perhaps.  So SAD!!! have to wait....

Anyway, the supposingly eventful day would be over until I got a call from Chin Hoong, an old friend for an gathering and perhaps to celebrate his birthday on 14th July.  The usual gang met up of course, top 4 of VICOMS (Me, Jun Huy, Whye Kit and birthday boy) and Yong Han, a soon to molester expert, lolz future physiotherapist in speaking wise also  came. Haha just kidding if you are reading this Yong Han.  The unbelievable thing was that Whye Kit has a RING! Looking forward for his coming wedding.  Had a great time catching up old times and sharing our great laughter together.  All i have to say is thanks to you guys for brightening up my dull day.  Hope to meet up with you guys soon and the rest and have the usual 6 hour midnight till dawn mahjong game, Haha.

:-) Good Old Days Are FUN!~

As of tonight me as the pundit would predict these matches with these results..lol

Germany 2 - 1  Portugal
With 30 minutes due to start and I aint taking no sides in this match, but personally Germany has the kick to snatch third place at least in this tournament.

France  1 - 0  Italy
---No comment---course I am being unfair to one side. Ehem..

World Cup 2006 Finale

The craze is getting more bizzare! From 32 teams all around the world, only 2 will march all the way to Berlin on 9th July to compete against each other for the glory of lifting the World Cup.  Well, of all the teams, there is simply one hated team throughout the tournament.  Not only that they dump all my other supporting team out, but they absolutely do not possessed what it takes to lift the trophy; Who else but........

ITALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's review:
My supporting teams:

  • Czech-Republic  0  -  2  Italy  [1st Round]

Surprisingly  lost to Italy after beaten US confidently but lost a humiliating score to Ghana, 2-0 also.  It was a scrappy and horrid match ever played by both sides, similar to the 19 men match Italy played against USA.  The Czechs were simple dumped out of the competition.  Can't blame

  • Australia  0  - 1  Italy [ Last 16 ]

Undoubtedly the most controversial and possibly the most lucky moment in the history of Italian football.  Awarded a penalty deep into stoppage time.  Not fair!! Aussies were totally dominating the game.  HOW LUCKY IS THAT? After all, it does not seem like a foul, more like diving.  I mean, you can't blame the Aussie who was already on the ground trying to tackle.  An Italian player came dashing through his body and tripped.  From the replay, a penalty is unjustifiable!  Just their luck, and that Australians had nothing to argue but boarding their next flight back home.....

  • Germany  0  -  2  Italy   [ Semi-final ]

Ladyluck is on their side yet again.  2 late goals in 2 minutes with almost 2 minutes remaining.  They should probably bet on getting 222 in a jackpot game.  I am totally stunned!

Just hope that not another mirable would befall on Italy again!!!! Though I am not very much keen on the French but it's way better than the trophy landing on the wrong hands.

So.."ALLER FRANCAIS"

Penang Trip

Penang was the recent trip i went with Eddie, who called me just two days before..Haha, I wasn't planning to go my final decision was a YES.  Number of people: A miserable Eddie, Me and Shu-Yi, with Chi Ming already there.

ITINERARIES [ 12th JUNE - 14th JUNE]

Day 1
Reached the Pearl Islands after a staggering journey record of three and a half hours from K.L.  Picked up by Pin Pin and first thing we spoke was craving for FOOD inside the car, since Ed and me were starving for almost 8 to 12 hours.  Got to some hawker centres somewhere near a jail and I had a not so wholesome bowl of prawn noodles and ABC that resembled a blood-red substance, possibly able to colour your hair like Ronald McDonald ( Too bad no pics `)

A typical 'reckless' Penang driver behind the wheel.

Passengers. {Why does Chi Ming's look so terrifying????? }

The fact is that literally everywhere in Penang is within driving distance.  Roads are mostly one-way street and trust me, don't drive if you are not a Penangite, or else you might reach a destination hours after looping around instead of just a few minutes.

Upon reaching our shelter (aka Pin's grandparents' house), which was situated somewhere at the foothill of Bkt Bendera, we brought inside our stuff into designated rooms. ( Anyway, our stuff wasn't much, we were more like backpackers).  Her house simply reminds me of my grandparents' existing one.  I shall upload some of the pics for comparison perhaps.

And guess what, there is a rambutan tree at the main compund with so many delicious red ones hanging and I was desperate and determined to pluck one.  Using a pair of umbrellas with different length and jumping as high as Michael Jordan, I somehow only managed to pluck one miserable rambutan.. Haih, so 'sanfu' just for one. Hahaha...

Anyway, we headed to Pin's house after that @ 5, Jln Hijau 5, Tmn Hijau..Hahaha, I die also will remember this address!!!!  And for all I knew, her mom served us with a plate full of well-peeled juicy rambutans.ShockedShockedShocked [Totally CHA TOU]

At night, we went out for dinner with Su-Lyn, a Penangite and also another coursemate of mine.  Ordering food in Penang is certainly a nightmare for me due to the fact that I could neither speak or understand Hokkien. [Wah beh hiao kong].  Ultimately, I was  quite dependent on them when it comes to these scenarios.

From Left = Pin Pin; Shu-Yi; Su-Lyn; Hat dropping mid-air; Eddie; Chi Ming

My Hokkien Char ( Personally this tastes nicer than Hokkien Mee}

Next stop; to a no longer attractive tourist spot, plus this area was striked with flooding during the 26/12 Tsunami >>> Gurney Drive.  First thing when i got out of the SUV was inhaling some cool stale breeze blowing from the sea.  OMG, if I were the tourist, the next thing I would do is heading back to the airport..LOL..The conventional hawker stall centre was apparently shifted to another site due to the flooding.  We dropped by at Gurney Plaza instead; the interior looks more or less like Time Square KL..Like Duh!!! It's a shopping complex...lolz.  Yeap so much yet so little time loitering around as Day 1 draws to an end.

Looking at cinema logo leh, why pointing other thing??

Day 2
So as the second day unfolds, everyone was reluctant to open their eyes. And by the way, eddie wasn't with us that night because he had rush against time to catch a ferry to see 'yee lai'..LOL..Just a joke, Ed! He actually headed to Bkt Mertajam to meet his loved one. Anyway, as drowsy and sleepy we were that morning, I proposed to go to Penang Hill on foot. Pin was like Hurmph "Why would you want to walk when there is a car." So, my sole deduction is that Penang ppl are so lazy!!!!! HAHAHA.

Turned out that we did walk! It was surprisingly quite distant to the place.  So, riding the slow-moving tram or whatever they call it up to some hundred metres above sea level, alighted the tram and Presto.....

A lot hasn't change much up here; bored and scenic, yeah can't deny that the view here is exceptional but from that pic above, I'll make an exception this time.  A lot of stupid pictures were snapped and seriously they are FuNNY alrite..!! Can't stop laughing as we took it, but the best one I had to say was the one we took at some abandoned peanut stall; I guess that guy had diarrhea for eating too much nuts. HAHA

That's real money ok >>>

Just us overlooking nothing.

I can't make head or tails of what this whole notice is all about.

This species is has more shelter privilege than our soaring butts.

That was that, probably the most memorable visit ever.  Back to the foothiil with our growling stomachs, we went to some cafe named Little Cottage; finally a decent restaurant in Penang!  All of us ordered the RM 9.90 set lunch; the guys ordered Set 1 and Set 3 while the girls ordered Set 2 and Set 4.  What an irony, like some sort of Battle of the Sexes.LOL.

 GUYS

                                          VS

GIRLS

In the end, the guys took most of the fries and Chi Ming practically swallowed a big chunk of Pin's fish fillet.  HAHAHAHAHA, you might want to see that, probably in his blog soon. Wink

The lunch was awesome, just didn't like the big round pineapple on my ham course I hate pineapples!  Next thing, we were supposed to meet Eddie at Perangin Mall and so I decided to walk. Well, obviously I reached there before them. [BANGGA]

After all the 'mejeng'ing, it's time for cheap DVDs and I mean real cheap, talking about RM4 for one.  Apparently you can only buy it at a place in Batu Ferringhi.  Sad to say was that not only that it was drizzling the entire evening as we reached there, all the DVD stalls were closed, thanks to the ever-efficient KASTAM yang menyibuk!!!!! I have to admit it's totally bad timing.  My main motive of coming Penang was unfulfilled.

With regrets and sorrows, we went back to Pin's house  playing Pokemon and some screw-up rules of UNO.  The last time, we spent almost an hour just to finish one game.  How amazing is that??  The only thing different about this deck is that it has an something called the invisibility cloak card whereby you can terminate all the draw cards instantly.  Haha, crap!

Harry Potter UNO Cards.

Day 3
Nothing much to write, just the day to head back KL.  I didn't sleep well the entire night.  Literally spent the whole night chatting with Pin and only slept for 2 hours.  Lolz. Before leaving, we were Perangin Mall again and Ed, Shu-Yi buying tonnes of movie DVDs while I bought some computer games instead.  In short the trip was not too bad, thanks to a lousy but kind organiser. Haha.  Hey hey, I pretty much enjoy the entire event, not to mention we were at the bus station 5 minutes before departure.  Pin managed to beat the bustling traffic and sent us to the station. [ Reason: We were watching CARS and almost forgot to fetch us ] Perhaps Lightning McQueen enlighten and sharpen her driving skills.

Aight, sigining off now...

Latest Movie Review

29th of June was the day that the Man of Steel was featured in cinemas and somewhow my old friends and i (Mun Keat and Kin Wai) were intrigued to watch, thinking that it would be an absolute cracker.  [HAHA, maybe Kin Wai and I only because Mun Keat is always 'regretful' after watching any movies].  However, the whole show appeals to me as total crap and a waste of time.  To say the least, I was completely upset with the entire plot.  Some of the critics were totally right...Well, here is one that i found out;

"This is a glum, lackluster movie in which even the big effects sequences seem dutiful instead of exhilarating."  >>>TOTALLY!!!!

Not to mention the whole movie spills out the complicated relationship between 'u know who' with 'u know who'..Oh C'mon, for god's sake can't they write that script off.  Everybody knows that their relationship will not work out.  And guess what, there was a sudden twist in the last chapter of the movie.  Young boy of Lois Lane ( How he existed in the first place; have absolutely no idea! ) suddenly became mighty and killed a bad guy. WOW..!!! I was taken aback and could there be a saga or continuation?? Probably sounds like this >> SUPERMAN RETURNS AGAIN...

Warner Bros. Pictures' Superman ReturnsThe ever popular 'poser'

Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and Brandon Routh as Superman in Warner Bros. Superman ReturnsThe unexplainable love

Hahaha, is it me or just the MOVIE SUCKS. Probably i am so sick of watching Smallville which ultimately potray my bad reviews towards the show.

ANyway, thought of going out for another movie to relieve myself haha.  Expected a whole bunch of uni friends but all of them were so busy working, even on Saturdays!! Thank god I have my 2 lovely friends, Qianhui and KaeShin who are willing to 'teman' me, hehe.  Movie is called TAKE THE LEAD; something like Shall We Dance. I totally had my thumbs up on this one.  The whole show was filled with lots of hillarious and meaningful scenes.  After all, this was inspired by a true story and i pretty like it though, with my favourite actor Antonio Banderas (LOL, sort of) inside.  The various dance moves certainly  awesome!! And to an extend, it revives my interest of learning too..LOL

Antonio Banderas and Anna Dimitrie Melamed in New Line Cinema's Take the Lead Some cutscenes.

No matter what, there is definitely a Must-Watch Movie for me
>>>>PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2<<<<<13th JULY here i come!!!
