Penang was the recent trip i went with Eddie, who called me just two days before..Haha, I wasn't planning to go my final decision was a YES. Number of people: A miserable Eddie, Me and Shu-Yi, with Chi Ming already there.
ITINERARIES [ 12th JUNE - 14th JUNE]
Day 1
Reached the Pearl Islands after a staggering journey record of three and a half hours from K.L. Picked up by Pin Pin and first thing we spoke was craving for FOOD inside the car, since Ed and me were starving for almost 8 to 12 hours. Got to some hawker centres somewhere near a jail and I had a not so wholesome bowl of prawn noodles and ABC that resembled a blood-red substance, possibly able to colour your hair like Ronald McDonald ( Too bad no pics `)

A typical 'reckless' Penang driver behind the wheel.

Passengers. {Why does Chi Ming's look so terrifying????? }
The fact is that literally everywhere in Penang is within driving distance. Roads are mostly one-way street and trust me, don't drive if you are not a Penangite, or else you might reach a destination hours after looping around instead of just a few minutes.
Upon reaching our shelter (aka Pin's grandparents' house), which was situated somewhere at the foothill of Bkt Bendera, we brought inside our stuff into designated rooms. ( Anyway, our stuff wasn't much, we were more like backpackers). Her house simply reminds me of my grandparents' existing one. I shall upload some of the pics for comparison perhaps.
And guess what, there is a rambutan tree at the main compund with so many delicious red ones hanging and I was desperate and determined to pluck one. Using a pair of umbrellas with different length and jumping as high as Michael Jordan, I somehow only managed to pluck one miserable rambutan.. Haih, so 'sanfu' just for one. Hahaha...

Anyway, we headed to Pin's house after that @ 5, Jln Hijau 5, Tmn Hijau..Hahaha, I die also will remember this address!!!! And for all I knew, her mom served us with a plate full of well-peeled juicy rambutans.

[Totally CHA TOU]

At night, we went out for dinner with Su-Lyn, a Penangite and also another coursemate of mine. Ordering food in Penang is certainly a nightmare for me due to the fact that I could neither speak or understand Hokkien. [Wah beh hiao kong]. Ultimately, I was quite dependent on them when it comes to these scenarios.
From Left = Pin Pin; Shu-Yi; Su-Lyn; Hat dropping mid-air; Eddie; Chi Ming

My Hokkien Char ( Personally this tastes nicer than Hokkien Mee}
Next stop; to a no longer attractive tourist spot, plus this area was striked with flooding during the 26/12 Tsunami >>> Gurney Drive. First thing when i got out of the SUV was inhaling some cool stale breeze blowing from the sea. OMG, if I were the tourist, the next thing I would do is heading back to the airport..LOL..The conventional hawker stall centre was apparently shifted to another site due to the flooding. We dropped by at Gurney Plaza instead; the interior looks more or less like Time Square KL..Like Duh!!! It's a shopping complex...lolz. Yeap so much yet so little time loitering around as Day 1 draws to an end.

Looking at cinema logo leh, why pointing other thing??
Day 2
So as the second day unfolds, everyone was reluctant to open their eyes. And by the way, eddie wasn't with us that night because he had rush against time to catch a ferry to see 'yee lai'..LOL..Just a joke, Ed! He actually headed to Bkt Mertajam to meet his loved one. Anyway, as drowsy and sleepy we were that morning, I proposed to go to Penang Hill on foot. Pin was like
"Why would you want to walk when there is a car." So, my sole deduction is that Penang ppl are so lazy!!!!! HAHAHA.
Turned out that we did walk! It was surprisingly quite distant to the place. So, riding the slow-moving tram or whatever they call it up to some hundred metres above sea level, alighted the tram and Presto.....

A lot hasn't change much up here; bored and scenic, yeah can't deny that the view here is exceptional but from that pic above, I'll make an exception this time. A lot of stupid pictures were snapped and seriously they are FuNNY alrite..!! Can't stop laughing as we took it, but the best one I had to say was the one we took at some abandoned peanut stall; I guess that guy had diarrhea for eating too much nuts. HAHA

That's real money ok >>>

Just us overlooking nothing.

I can't make head or tails of what this whole notice is all about.

This species is has more shelter privilege than our soaring butts.
That was that, probably the most memorable visit ever. Back to the foothiil with our growling stomachs, we went to some cafe named Little Cottage; finally a decent restaurant in Penang! All of us ordered the RM 9.90 set lunch; the guys ordered Set 1 and Set 3 while the girls ordered Set 2 and Set 4. What an irony, like some sort of Battle of the Sexes.LOL.

GUYS
VS

GIRLS
In the end, the guys took most of the fries and Chi Ming practically swallowed a big chunk of Pin's fish fillet. HAHAHAHAHA, you might want to see that, probably in his blog soon.
The lunch was awesome, just didn't like the big round pineapple on my ham course I hate pineapples! Next thing, we were supposed to meet Eddie at Perangin Mall and so I decided to walk. Well, obviously I reached there before them. [BANGGA]
After all the 'mejeng'ing, it's time for cheap DVDs and I mean real cheap, talking about RM4 for one. Apparently you can only buy it at a place in Batu Ferringhi. Sad to say was that not only that it was drizzling the entire evening as we reached there, all the DVD stalls were closed, thanks to the ever-efficient KASTAM yang menyibuk!!!!! I have to admit it's totally bad timing. My main motive of coming Penang was unfulfilled.
With regrets and sorrows, we went back to Pin's house playing Pokemon and some screw-up rules of UNO. The last time, we spent almost an hour just to finish one game. How amazing is that?? The only thing different about this deck is that it has an something called the invisibility cloak card whereby you can terminate all the draw cards instantly. Haha, crap!

Harry Potter UNO Cards.
Day 3
Nothing much to write, just the day to head back KL. I didn't sleep well the entire night. Literally spent the whole night chatting with Pin and only slept for 2 hours. Lolz. Before leaving, we were Perangin Mall again and Ed, Shu-Yi buying tonnes of movie DVDs while I bought some computer games instead. In short the trip was not too bad, thanks to a lousy but kind organiser. Haha. Hey hey, I pretty much enjoy the entire event, not to mention we were at the bus station 5 minutes before departure. Pin managed to beat the bustling traffic and sent us to the station. [ Reason: We were watching CARS and almost forgot to fetch us ] Perhaps Lightning McQueen enlighten and sharpen her driving skills.
Aight, sigining off now...
